Petawawa Terrace: The Aki Trail offers 2.5 km of wide, packed-surface trail that is accessible for most visitors. While there are a few sandy patches and tree roots along the way, it's a rewarding route for those looking to experience nature up close. An accessible portable washroom is available at the trailhead.

Algonquin Trail: Part of a 296 km trail network connecting communities across eastern Ontario, the Algonquin Trail offers a flat, scenic route through Petawawa. We acknowledge that the Town of Petawawa was incorporated on the traditional, unceded, and unsurrendered Algonquin Anishinaabe territory. We recognize Petawawa's long history which predates the first arrival of colonists as early as 1613 and its significance to the indigenous peoples who lived and continue to live upon it and whose spiritual practices are tied to this land. We commit to understanding the profound impact and harm of colonization, honouring indigenous rights, and embracing reconciliation as a core responsibility. We further commit to honouring the reconciliation process by learning about the 7 Grandfather Teachings of love, respect, bravery, truth, honesty, humility, and wisdom, and applying these lessons to our stewardship of this land.
